As a co-owner of Outbase Campervans, a company that specializes in converting mini-vans into mini-campers, he was looking for two future employees who could simply take some of the workload off his shoulders. "I was looking for people with passion. It didn't really matter whether they had experience or not," says Tim.
"I already knew SecondJob from advertisements along the road and such. But the final step to go ahead with them was taken when they approached me. The vision and passion of the company, finding real jobs for people who want to work, triggered my interest. I believe in this myself." In response, I quickly asked, "What do we need to do to get my vacancies online?" "I was very well helped with that, and before I knew it, the applications were pouring in. The whole process, from the first contact to discussing the costs and the application procedure, was very relaxed. It felt a bit like a give-and-take, naturally."
"With the growth of our company, it was necessary to delegate some tasks. For this reason, I subscribed to a social boost and went looking for two new employees. The tasks involve quite physical and 'dry' tasks such as installing furniture or setting up and cleaning equipment. Therefore, I initially did not expect there to be much interest, at least not so much interest."
"The applications made me very enthusiastic. It was surprising to see how good all the applicants were on paper. And how many different expertises they came from. But with every applicant, the passion and drive were palpable. I thought that was very cool to see. That made the choice a bit harder! I was actually only looking for two people, but in the end, I managed to fill as many as four vacancies. Yes, I didn't quite see that coming myself!"
"It's been about four weeks now since the people via Payper started, but so far they are performing above expectations. I find it beautiful to see that they are really driven. They want to be here and they want to work hard, you can tell from them. In this short time, they already feel very involved and are a valuable addition to the team," says Tim. "I have also learned from this experience. From placing vacancies, the applicants, and their drive on the shop floor. I have learned that if you as an organization have something to offer, there are definitely people out there looking for it."
